7/27/2023 0 Comments Raycast materials mmdWhen you provide a Mesh, it will use that mesh to create a collider. However the MeshCollider does not support this. What you would need is to make a MeshCollider only use certain submeshes from the provided mesh. The MeshCollider actually has a PhysicMaterial that determines certain physical properties like friction and bounciness. However the MeshCollider has no concept of those materials. The MeshRenderer in addition has a list of materials to apply to certain submeshes when rendering the object. We have two kinds of assets (Mesh and Materials) and two kinds of component (MeshCollider and MeshRenderer).īoth the MeshCollider as well as the MeshRenderer use the Mesh asset to perform their task independent from each other. Note there are 4 different things at play here.
